One Long DaydreamSometimes are daydreams never ending as we wish and hope for better things such as relationships, jobs and financial prosperity. We get into the rut of saying "if only" These daydreams if left unchecked can cause our brain to short out and bizarre behaviors plague us. Doctors have tagged this disorder as Narcissistic personality disorder. Narcissistic personality disorders are disorders that can bring the patient great pain and distress. There are several steps that are recognized with a person with narcissistic personality disorder. A sense of self-importance is at the top of the list and the person will lie about achievements and demand superior treatment. To follow is dreams that cross over into reality of a successful life, good looks, and that perfect relationship. They also will take advantage of any and all relationships whether social or career related and views them with arrogance or beneath them. They are jealous of other's accomplishments and convince themselves that others are jealous of them. Finally they lack compassion and do not care if someone else is hurting. Narcissistic personality disorders can make the patient suffering with the disease feel negative about themselves and others. They constantly have problem relationships and difficulties at work. This is primarily because of uncontrolled anger and low self esteem. Narcissistic personality disorder can result in an addictive or multiple personality disorder since relationships are the main issues of their life. Narcissistic personality disorder also is viewed as introvert yet aggressive personality disorder. Symptoms vary but the main ones are: Repetitive conflicts at home or on the job, always putting one down or looking at oneself negatively, cannot react to issues in life normally, blowing issues out of proportion, and emotional outbursts. Without therapy, multiple personality disorder can manifest and cause great harm to the patient and those around them. Multiple personality symptoms are evident. They include many different alter states, such as historic figures or ancestors or unknown characters from children to adult. These symptoms manifest themselves as a means of an out to a grievous situation. Narcissistic personality disorder treatment usually requires group or drug therapy. Psychologists and psychiatrists may treat patients with severe cases requiring hospitalization and close supervision. Though narcissistic personality disorders are well known, there is no cure. Group therapy and drug therapy simply treat the symptoms, not the disease. Unchecked daydreams can dangerously lock the patient with narcissist, addictive, histrionic or multiple personality a disorder into a fantasy world where nothing is at it seems. They can carry this over into their physical life and cause undo damage in every area of their life. Recognizing the symptoms is the first step to getting help. Snapping out of the daydreaming should follow. |
